Education requirements
Cosmetology requires you to have a high school diploma or a GED. After that you must go to cosmetology school and have 1,200 hours of training and graduate with your license. Following training, applicants must pass a two-part state board exam (written theory and clinical) and complete a 4-hour HIV/AIDS course.
